Log

I've started making a new log. Pulled in nose, hips way back. Big old pivot fin I foiled a couple of weeks back. Hopefully I'll get her done this weekend.

Waving

A sweet little animation by Joe Conway set to a lovely song by The Mumlers. It makes me want to go surfing.

Happy

Heard the good news this week that Seaworthy has been selected for the International Surf Film Festival, held at St-Jean-De-Luz, France, on the 20th-23rd of this month. I feel happy about that. It's up against some big films but, whatever, it's just encouraging to see my homemade independent film travel so far. I'm grateful.

More Serendipity

Another sequence of Ryan Burch putting my alaia through its paces, on a small day at Manu Bay. I shot a bunch of footage of him & Eric Snortum riding alaias in Raglan. They're great surfers & I hope to get the chance to work with them again. I've just begun logging the footage & I'm stoked with the stuff I have. I really look forward to editing it when I get the time.

The Great Sea

The great sea
has set me in motion.
Set me adrift
and I move as a weed
in the river.
The arch of the sky
and mightiness of storms
encompasses me,
and I am left
trembling with joy.

(A traditional Inuit song).
